Fubuki can be best described as a force of nature. He's zany, energetic, and schemes some crazy schemes -- a lot, apparently; according to Ryou, he has a "bad habit" of doing so. He likes to embarrass his little sister Asuka, and has been best friends and rivals with Ryou for a while now. He's quite the ladies' man, too.
 In the beginning of the series, Fubuki is mysteriously absent. Asuka tells Juudai, Shou, and Hayato that her brother mysteriously disappeared when he came to the forbidden dorm, as well as a few other students. They find an autographed picture of him signed "Fubuki 10Join", which we find out later in the series is a pun he likes to take advantage of. He is then discovered to have been unwillingly possessed by Darkness, a mask of evil that was a member of the Seven Stars. After Darkness' defeat by Juudai, Fubuki is revealed behind the mask, and is taken to the infirmary, where he remembers nothing.
 In order to regain Fubuki's memories, Asuka duels Titan, the sixth of the Seven Stars. Fubuki watches the duel and his memories slowly begin to kick back in again, and he calls to her just when she's about to give up hope. In a close match, she wins the duel, and Fubuki's memories are restored completely. They meet outside the abandoned dorm, where they officially reunite. Fubuki tells Asuka how he became a shadow duelist: he was taken to the forbidden dorm one day for class by Daitokuji, where he was dragged into the shadow world. After the restoration of his memories, Fubuki basically becomes a member of the main cast of characters.
 Although he's very proactive about helping out other people's love lives, he is also quite earnest when it comes to love. He seems to think he knows everything about women (and, granted, he might know some things, as he's able to have Junko and Momoe swoon themselves senseless), but it would seem that his "brilliant plans" often end up in failure. Take, for example, his attempt to pair up Manjoume with Asuka. That didn't end so well (for Manjoume, anyway). Not to mention he's constantly trying to convince Asuka to find a guy.
 Fubuki's dream (or, at least, his dream of the moment) is to make Asuka and himself into world-renowned idols. Asuka refuses, so they duel over it. Fubuki powers up a monster without thinking, and it eventually leads to his defeat when the monster is immobilized by all the power-ups he's put on it. Asuka easily takes advantage of this and defeats him. It doesn't stop him from promoting her as a Duel Academy idol, though -- he passes out pictures to her fan club, including to Manjoume. Him and Manjoume can both keep dreaming for all Asuka cares.
